HBO’s not-so-funnyman Bill Maher called the POPE a one time NAZI and Catholicism a “cult” that promotes “organized pedophilia.” In May 2007 he compared communion to homosexual oral sodomy and called for turning homosexuality into a religion.
Maher has also called the Catholic Church the Bear Stearns of organized pedophilia — too big, too fat. There are 70 million American Catholics.
Maher is reported ready to apologize on his Friday evening broadcast. It is unclear what the consequences might be for HBO and his career.
